Lucknow, 16 Oct (HS):
Mayawati, the president of the BSP, accused the Congress and Samajwadi Party of
lacking political honesty on Thursday, claiming that only her party is devoted
to the welfare and constitutional rights of marginalized populations. Addressing
a meeting of the party's Uttar Pradesh unit, she urged all party members to
commit their whole efforts and resources to the preparations for the 2027 state
Assembly elections, according to an official statement.
She stated that the party's goal is to secure the master key to political power
while also continuing its history of social and economic liberation. During the
meeting, she expressed emotional congratulations and thanks to all party office
bearers and workers for the historic success of the major state-level event
organized on October 9 at the Kanshi Ram Ji Memorial Site in Lucknow to mark
19th death anniversary of BSP founder, Kanshi Ram.
She slammed the
previous SP government, claiming that its casteist mindset caused it to ignore
memorials built during the BSP government and rename many new districts,
universities, colleges, hospitals, and other institutions named after great
Bahujan saints, gurus, and social reformers.
If they had not done this, and had not rendered different assistance
initiatives ineffectual, their names may not have been written in the dark
pages of history, as was the case with the infamous'state guest house incident'
on June 2, 1995. But their lack of contrition even now demonstrates nothing but
political malice, deception, and dishonesty, she claimed.
Mayawati went on to say that the BSP's character does not include practices
like bribery, deception, manipulation, and hidden conspiracy.
Mayawati stated that the BSP is funded
by the hard work of crores of impoverished, exploited, and oppressed people. That
is why, during my administrations, large-scale public welfare and development
projects were carried out with total honesty, devotion, and dedication to
people and country, rather than for political gain or vote-bank interests. According to her, the outcomes of these
initiatives demonstrate actual social transformation and economic independence.
On her birthday, January 15, Mayawati appealed to people to continue the
tradition of contributing financially to the party, saying, Through the
power of our vote, BSP seeks to obtain the master key of political power,
while transforming the 'bahujan' society from a dependent to a contributing
section of society. This requires
ongoing collaboration in spirit, effort, and resources.
