Kolkata, 15 October (H.S.): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday paid heartfelt tribute to former President and Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary. Remembering him as a great scientist and visionary leader, she lauded his lifelong dedication to the nation’s progress.

Posting on X, the Chief Minister wrote, “Solemnly remembering former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary. He was a great scientist and visionary leader whose sincerity and humility continue to inspire people to dream big and work for the nation’s development.”

Dr. Kalam, who served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007, played a pivotal role in advancing India’s space and nuclear programmes. Fondly known as the “People’s President,” he remains one of the most respected and inspirational figures in modern Indian history.
