Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister
Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday posted a message on X, which reads as follows: “It
is the responsibility of a welfare government to honestly provide the benefits
of government schemes to the needy, the poor, and the deprived. When a good
government comes into power, it considers the welfare of all with the desire
for public welfare. With this sacred sentiment, @UPGovt has decided to provide
free cooking gas cylinders twice a year, on the occasion of Holi and Diwali.
Today, in the same vein, on the occasion of the grand festival of Diwali, I
participated in a program to distribute gas cylinder refill subsidies to 18.6 million
eligible families in Uttar Pradesh, using a fund of Rs. 1,500 crore under the
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Congratulations to all beneficiaries and best
wishes for Diwali in advance!”
