Sultanpur,
15 Oct (HS): Aqeel Ahmed, a resident of Azizpur Bankegaon in the
Kadipur tehsil area of Sultanpur district in Uttar Pradesh, died under
suspicious circumstances in Saudi Arabia. His body was brought back to India
ten days later, leaving the entire village and family in mourning.
Aqeel
Ahmed (45) had been working as a driver for a gas company in Riyadh, Saudi
Arabia, for the past 12 years. He died all of a sudden on October 4. His family
was devastated upon receiving the news. His wife, Idulnisha, and two daughters,
aged 19 and 9, are in deep shock. The family made extensive efforts to bring his
body back home. Later, they contacted social worker Abdul Haq, a resident of
Kadipur.
Social
worker Abdul Haq immediately contacted the Saudi Arabian Embassy and sent the
necessary documents (including a power of attorney). He has previously helped
bring the bodies of several Indians from foreign countries to India. After the
process was completed, Aqeel Ahmed's body arrived in the village late Tuesday
night. As soon as the body arrived, grief swept through the family. Aqeel had
last visited Saudi Arabia on July 15, 2019. The news of his death has cast a
pall of gloom over the entire area.
