Bhubaneswar, 15 October (H.S.) : In a major breakthrough under its ongoing anti-crime and anti-narcotics drive, the Koraput Police has achieved significant success by invoking the National Security Act (NSA) against a notorious criminal .
According to an official press release issued by the Odisha Police, Hrudananda Nayak alias Prince (35), son of Trinath Nayak, has been booked under the NSA. Nayak, a habitual offender, has more than 17 criminal cases registered against him, including charges of extortion, NDPS Act violations, and dacoity spread across Jeypore, Boriguma, and Nabarangpur areas.
According to the release, Nayak’s persistent involvement in organized crime had become a serious law and order threat in southern Odisha. After completing all legal formalities, the accused was taken into preventive custody under the provisions of the NSA to ensure public peace and safety.
