- CM Sarma to inaugurate the Foundation Day ceremony
Guwahati, 15 October (HS): The Pragjyotishpur University, established in 2022 with the aim of imparting higher education rooted in Indian knowledge traditions and patriotism, is set to celebrate its Fosikundation Day on October 17 at its Chandrapur, Hajoangbari campus in Guwahati. The event, organised in collaboration with the Sankardev Education and Research Foundation (SERF), will be inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma as the Chief Guest.
Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita, Assam Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu and RSS National Executive Member Suresh Soni will also grace the occasion.
Addressing a press conference at the Dispur Press Club, SERF President Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Rana Pratap Kalita and Pragjyotishpur University Vice Chancellor Prof. Smriti Kumar Sinha shared details of the upcoming events. On this occasion, the university’s main gate, the state-of-the-art Mahabahu Bhawan Conference Hall, and the Dhanvantari Bhawan of the Faculty of Medical Sciences will also be inaugurated.
The Northeast Education Conclave 2.0, themed “Excellence and Innovation in Higher Education”, will be organised on October 18 at the university campus. The conclave aims to provide a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and exchange of ideas among policymakers, academicians, and experts from across the country. Vice Chancellors and representatives from leading universities and higher education institutions will participate in the event.
The valedictory session will be graced by Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya as the Chief Guest and Tripura Higher Education Minister Kishore Barman as the Guest of Honour. RSS National Executive Member Suresh Soni will also be present on the occasion.
