Kolkata, 15 October (H.S.): The office of the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal has expedited the booth mapping process under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Data for Jhargram, West Medinipur, and Alipurduar districts has already been uploaded to the Election Commission's website, a senior official said on Wednesday morning.

According to the official, booth mapping has been completed by 62.94 percent in West Medinipur district, 51.36 percent in Jhargram, and 53.73 percent in Alipurduar. Besides these three districts, booth mapping is also progressing rapidly in several other districts.

So far, 61.29 percent work has been completed in Purulia, 64.27 percent in Kalimpong, 54.49 percent in Malda, and 55.35 percent in Kolkata North. The process has reached 45 percent in North 24 Parganas, while it is between 50 and 55 percent in South 24 Parganas.

The official said the data is being compiled based on the 2002 SIR standard. Voters in districts where the data has been uploaded may now check their details online using their EPIC numbers.

He said the mapping work has been expedited ahead of the Diwali holidays, which begin on October 18. All district magistrates, who are also district election officers, have been instructed to expedite the process. He added that the deadline for this task was originally set for October 15.
