Vice President Radhakrishnan to Visit Sitab Diara Today, Pay Tribute to Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan on His Birth Anniversary

New Delhi, October 11(HS): Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan will embark on a one-day visit to Bihar today to pay homage to Bharat Ratna Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan on his birth anniversary. He will visit Sitab Diara, the legendary leader’s ancestral village in Saran district, to offer floral tributes and honor the memory of the icon who spearheaded India’s “Total Revolution.”

According to a statement released by the Vice President’s Secretariat on Thursday, Radhakrishnan will visit Jayaprakash Narayan’s ancestral residence in Sitab Diara and pay his respects. He will also offer floral tributes at the Jayaprakash Narayan National Memorial and visit the Prabhavati Library, established in memory of JP’s wife, Prabhavati Devi.

Sitab Diara holds a prominent place in India’s political and historical landscape. Situated near the confluence of the Ganga and Ghaghara rivers on the border of Bihar’s Saran and Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia districts, the village is revered as the birthplace of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan — the visionary who ignited the movement for “Sampoorna Kranti” (Total Revolution) and inspired generations of Indians toward democratic reform and social justice.
