Patna, October 11 (H.S.) – On the occasion of the 123rd birth anniversary of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan, Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan visited Sitab Diara in Saran district on Saturday. He paid floral tributes to the great freedom fighter, the proponent of the “Total Revolution,” Bharat Ratna awardee, and revered leader Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan.

The occasion was historic, as it marked the first visit of the Vice President of India to the birthplace of the great freedom fighter and architect of the Total Revolution.

The Vice President reached the Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan National Memorial at Sitab Diara from Patna by road under tight security arrangements, where he was welcomed by the Saran Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Inspector General of Police, District Magistrate, and Senior Superintendent of Police. He garlanded the statue of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan and visited his ancestral home.

Breaking protocol slightly, the Vice President also interacted with local residents and JP movement veterans. He then visited the Jayaprakash Narayan Museum and the Prabhavati Devi Library.

Several senior officials from Saran district and a large number of villagers were present on the occasion. Due to the enforcement of the election code of conduct, no political leaders participated in the event.

Villagers were eager to catch a glimpse of the Vice President during his visit. On his way back to Patna, he briefly stepped out of his vehicle, greeted the gathered crowd with folded hands, and then departed.
