Washington/Cairo, October 11, (HS): United States President Donald Trump expressed strong confidence that the newly brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, effective from Friday, will endure, citing growing exhaustion among both parties. Speaking to reporters, President Trump noted, “It’ll hold. I think it’ll hold. They’re all tired of the fighting,” signaling optimism for sustained peace in the region. In an effort to further reinforce stability, President Trump confirmed his planned travel to Israel and Egypt this weekend.

On Monday, he will meet multiple regional leaders in Cairo to discuss Gaza’s reconstruction and future governance, demonstrating a proactive diplomatic approach. The visit will also include an address to the Israeli parliament, underscoring the United States’ engagement in finding a lasting resolution.

President Trump suggested that the agreed ceasefire could pave the way for wider peace across the Middle East, remarking, “Now we have some little hot spots, but they’re very small… They’ll be very easy to put out. Those fires are going to be put out very quickly,” reflecting his confident stance on regional de-escalation.

The breakthrough comes as Israel and Hamas, after weeks of intense conflict, have entered into a truce brokered with assistance from Egypt. International attention is now focused on the upcoming talks and President Trump’s Middle East diplomacy, which aims to secure continued peace and humanitarian support for Gaza.
