Kamrup (Assam), 11 October (HS): A pall of grief and anger has descended on Dimoria village under Khetri Police Station following the mysterious death of a 16-year-old girl. The deceased, identified as Asmita Sarkar, was the eldest daughter of Monadhan Sarkar and a first-year Higher Secondary student at Dimoria College.

According to reports, Asmita was found unconscious at her residence when her parents returned home. Despite immediate efforts to save her, she succumbed shortly afterward.

Family members claimed to have found injury marks on her neck, leading them to suspect foul play. They have alleged that a youth named Apurba Mallik, a resident of Boha Barpak in Morigaon district,y may be connected to the incident.

Police from Khetri have initiated a thorough investigation into the case to determine the circumstances surrounding Asmita’s death. The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, leaving residents demanding justice for the young student whose life ended far too soon.------
