Bhubaneswar, 11 October (H.S.) Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for laying the foundation stones of key fisheries and agricultural projects in Odisha under the vision of Purvodaya Mission.
In Odisha, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Integrated Aqua Park at Hirakud, Sambalpur, to be developed at a cost of ₹100 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), and a modern wholesale fish market at Pandara, Bhubaneswar, with an investment of ₹59.13 crore.
Thanking the Prime Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan said these initiatives mark a transformative step for Odisha’s fisheries and agriculture sectors and will greatly strengthen the Purvodaya Mission — the vision for the eastern region’s development.
He further stated that the Prime Minister also launched several landmark schemes nationwide, including the ‘Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana’ with an outlay of ₹24,000 crore, and the Pulses Self-Reliance Mission with an allocation of ₹11,440 crore, along with multiple projects in animal husbandry, fisheries, and food processing.
“These efforts will empower Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and strengthen cooperative societies engaged in farming, dairy, and fisheries, boosting rural prosperity and self-reliance,” Pradhan added.
