Kolkata, 11 October (H.S.): The police have arrested a man for allegedly raping a disabled woman in Kolkata's port area. A complaint regarding the incident was filed at the Nadial police station around midnight on Friday. The police acted swiftly and arrested the accused on Saturday morning.

According to police sources, the complaint was filed through a letter at the Nadial police station at around 12:15 am on Friday night. The complaint stated that a physically disabled woman had been raped. Upon receiving the complaint, the police immediately registered an FIR and initiated an investigation.

At around 6:35 am on Saturday, the police arrested the accused in front of his home. The police said that the accused's family has been informed of the reasons for the arrest.

According to sources, the accused underwent a medical examination on Saturday and was produced in court. The police have requested police custody for a thorough investigation.
