11 Oct (HS): In the case of firing that took place late Friday night in Bhauna
Farm village of Baheri police station area in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, the
police arrested the accused after an encounter on Saturday morning. The accused
was shot in the leg and has been sent to the hospital for treatment. According
to the information, at around 10:30 on Friday night, Jais Mohammad alias Badla,
resident of Bhauna Farm, fired a pistol at Gurnam Singh after a mutual
altercation. The bullet hit the upper part of the stomach. The injured Gurnam
was admitted to the hospital, where his condition is said to be out of danger.
Based
on a report about the incident, the Baheri police station registered a case
against the accused and began searching for him. On Saturday morning, at around
6:15 a.m., when the police team was checking near Naula Farm in the Sirsa
outpost area, the accused was seen approaching on a motorcycle. Seeing the
police, he opened fire. In the retaliatory fire, a police bullet hit his leg,
and he was apprehended. Police recovered a 315-bore pistol, two empty shells, a
live cartridge, and the motorcycle from the scene.

SSP Anurag Arya said, A case was registered against the accused in the
firing incident. Police acted swiftly and arrested him during an encounter.
Teams have been alerted to maintain law and order in the area.
