IIT Roorkee and Gurukul Kangri Students Launch Ganga Cleanliness Drive

Haridwar, October 11 (HS) – Students from Gurukul Kangri University and IIT Roorkee, in collaboration with Rotary Club Kankhal, conducted a Ganga cleanliness drive at Daridra Bhanjan Ghat in Kankhal. During the campaign, students cleaned old and dirty clothes, waste materials, and plastic from the Ganga ghats, promoting the message of a clean Ganga.

Encouraging the students, Rotary Club Kankhal President Harpal Singh and Secretary Rajeev Arora said that only determined efforts can make the Ganga clean. People should let the river flow pure and avoid throwing waste and garbage into it.

Project Chairman and senior BJP leader Dr. Vishal Garg said, “The Ganga is the identity of our culture. Millions of people are emotionally connected to Mother Ganga. With everyone’s participation, the river can be made clean, pure, and free-flowing. Take advantage of the Ganga Bandhi and contribute to making the Ganga pollution-free.” He added that both the state and central governments are running several programs to keep the Ganga clean.

Dr. Garg emphasized that public awareness is crucial for Ganga cleanliness, and such campaigns by students will inspire others to join the cause.

Participants in the campaign included Sheelu Bhatia, Praveen Chawla, Anubhav Garg, Pradeep Agrawal, Manoj Subuddhi, Vivek Garg, Mayank Pokhriyal, Pari Arora, Jashn Arora, Anupa Subuddhi, and Harvinder Singh Bhatia.
