Nagon (Assam), 11 October (HS): When life offers nothing but struggle, determination becomes the greatest weapon—and Vinay Bora from Assam’s Nagon district has proved this beyond doubt.
The announcement of the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) results has brought not just names on a list, but life-changing hope for many hardworking families. Among them stands a shining example — Vinay Bora, a young man from Raidangia village in Batadrava, whose achievement has inspired thousands across the state.
As soon as the ADRE results were declared on Friday, joy swept through Vinay’s modest village. The son of a daily wage labourer, Prabhat Bora, and his wife Julie Bora, Vinay’s name on the list as a newly appointed Sub-Inspector in the Assam Police spread like wildfire. Neighbours, teachers, and villagers gathered at his home, celebrating with tears of happiness and pride. It wasn’t just his success — it was the triumph of perseverance, honesty, and faith in hard work.
Vinay’s journey was far from easy. With his father’s daily wages barely meeting household needs, he took up private tutoring and part-time teaching jobs to support his education and family. Despite every hardship, his commitment to his studies never wavered. Teachers remember him as a brilliant yet humble student, one who always carried determination in his eyes.
Speaking to reporters, Vinay’s father, his eyes glistening with emotion, said, “My prayers have been answered. This is the blessing of God and the reward for my son’s relentless effort and devotion.”
Today, in Raidangia village, Vinay Bora’s story resonates beyond celebration — it reaffirms the power of dreams and diligence. His achievement highlights how transparency in recruitment and honest effort can truly change lives, even from the humblest beginnings.------
