New Delhi, October 11 (H.S.) – Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday handed over assistance cheques of ₹1 crore each to the families of 11 government employees who lost their lives while performing their duties during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chief Minister said that this is not just financial assistance but a mark of deep gratitude and respectful tribute to these brave employees. Their courage and selfless service will remain immortal in our hearts and inspire future generations with duty, compassion, and dedication.

At a simple ceremony held at the Delhi Secretariat, the Chief Minister said that no government can compensate the value of a human life, but it is the government’s duty to provide every possible support to such families. She added that it is a matter of pride for the Delhi government to honor the families of these employees who showed unwavering dedication during the COVID period. She assured that the Delhi government, guided by the principle of “People First,” will stand by these families not only with financial support but also in addressing other needs and challenges. Social Welfare Minister Ravindra Indraj Singh was also present on the occasion.

The assistance was provided to the families of the late employees: V. Nangthanlian (Commerce & Tax Department), Rajbala Garg (GTB Hospital), Babita (CBPACS), Rohan Joshi (MCD), Dr. Ravinder Kumar Goyal (DGHS), Aniyamma Reji (MAMC), Biswajit Das (DTC), Rajesh Kumar (Education Department), Dr. Naveen Ram (BSF), Dr. Vijay Singh Rajan (BSF), and Arun Sood (DHS). The Chief Minister said that the dedication and service of these employees will be recorded as one of the brightest chapters in Delhi’s history.
