Kolkata, 10 October (H.S.). To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the Government of India has released special commemorative coins and postage stamps. Minted by the Kolkata Mint, these coins are now available for online purchase through the official website https://indiagovtmint.in/hi/product-category/kolkata-mint/.

A senior official of the Kolkata Mint confirmed on Saturday that the coins have been made available online following directives from the Ministry of Finance. The official described the initiative as a tribute to “a century of service, unity, and dedication” by the RSS.

The coins and stamps have been designed to honour the RSS’s century-long legacy and its contribution to India’s socio-cultural and national development. The commemorative stamps are also available for collectors at Philately Bureaus across the country.

The initiative has been widely appreciated nationwide, with many describing it as a fitting tribute to the RSS for its contribution to nation-building. A senior RSS functionary from West Bengal said that the release was eagerly awaited: “Since the announcement, volunteers and citizens across India have shown great enthusiasm to collect these limited-edition coins and stamps. Now, they can easily purchase them online.”

Founded in 1925 by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the RSS has played a significant role in social service, education, disaster relief, and national unity over the past century.

The coins and stamps were officially unveiled at a special event held on the eve of Vijayadashami as part of the RSS centenary celebrations. The ceremony was attended by top RSS functionaries along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Following the release, the limited-edition commemorative items have seen strong demand among collectors and the general public, symbolizing both national pride and recognition of the organisation’s enduring contribution to Indian society.
