officials. The Chief Minister inaugurated the fair by cutting the ribbon. After
the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the carpet shops. During his
inspection of the carpet stalls, the Chief Minister was presented with a
variety of gifts. At one carpet stall, he received a portrait of Prime Minister

Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Chief Minister was delighted and praised the
exporter. He closely observed the carpet stalls and gathered information about
them.
The
Chief Minister was delighted to see the beautiful carpets made by the inmates
of the district jail. He described this as excellent work. The Chief Minister
was presented with a JCB (Bulldozer) machine, depicted on a carpet, as he is
known as Bulldozer Baba and has used bulldozers against criminals
and the mafia. The Chief Minister was presented with a picture of Jai
Shri Ram written on it, with a mace, a symbol of power, engraved on the
carpet. This picture demonstrates the strict policies and powerful nature of
his rule.
The
Chief Minister explained that the carpet industry is not just a business; it is
a vibrant tradition of our artisans and craftsmen. Today, this industry employs
2.5 to 3 million people and exports approximately Rs. 17,000 crore annually. It
has become a major medium for women's self-reliance. The government is striving
to connect more women with this industry so that they can become financially
strong while staying at home. The Chief Minister said that Bhadohi should not
be underestimated; it is a symbol of the economic strength of the state and the
country. Before 2014, this industry was almost extinct, but today it has become
the identity of Uttar Pradesh. He added that on the occasion of Diwali,
Swadeshi fairs are being organized in all 75 districts of the state, in which
special stalls have been set up showcasing Bhadohi carpets.
