Srinagar, 11 October (H.S.): A grand passing out parade for 167 recruit constables (tradesmen) was held today at the BSF Subsidiary Training Centre, Humhama, marking their formal induction as ‘Seema Praharis’. The recruits, hailing from across the country, took an oath of duty during the event.

Inspector General STC Kashmir BSF, Solomon Yash Kumar Minz, was the chief guest and inspected the parade, highlighting the recruits’ exceptional training over 44 weeks. The recruits gained proficiency in weapon handling, firing skills, law, drill, and border management, while also enhancing their physical and mental strength.

“Besides due to the hard work been put in by trainees of the STC BSF Kashmir their physical efficiency also increased many fold and now they are physically, mentally and professionally purposed to serve the nation during peace and war,” a BSF spokesman said.

Speaking on the occasion, Yash Kumar said that BSF being the first line of defence, has not only been guarding borders effectively since its inception but it has also made significant contributions in fighting foreign sponsored terrorism and internal militancy with unparalleled valour and steely determination.

Underlining the very fact that close cooperation and coordination amongst different security agencies is necessary to eliminate terrorism and narco terror threats that emanates across borders, the chief guest asserted that BSF with an efficient mechanism and response system is fully prepared to meet the mammoth challenges.

Addressing the recruits, IG, STC Kashmir, wholeheartedly appreciated the excellent display of self – confidence and picture perfect coordination which was the high point during the parade. He applauded the recruits for choosing BSF as a carrier option and exhorted them to serve the nation with courage and enthusiasm.

He congratulated STC Kashmir and the instructional staff for putting in herculean efforts in achieving the objective of moulding raw youths, in well trained Seema Praharies and have given them self – confidence and turning them into disciplined jawans. He blessed the recruits with a bright future in their life and service ahead.

The chief guest awarded medals to recruits who performed exceptionally well in various indoor and outdoor training activities.
