Silchar (Assam), 11 October (HS): The third full executive session of the Assam Sahitya Sabha commenced today with a two-day programme at Bong Bhawan, Silchar. The inauguration began in the morning with a solemn flag hoisting ceremony at the Silchar branch office premises.

Dr. Jogeshwar Barman, President of the Cachar District Sahitya Sabha, hoisted the Sabha flag in the presence of several prominent members, marking the official start of the session. Assam Sahitya Sabha’s Chief Secretary Debajit Bora, along with other key office bearers, attended the ceremony, reflecting strong participation from across the literary body.

The atmosphere resonated with cultural pride as attendees stood in reverence during the ceremony, with many capturing the historic moment while elders watched with nostalgic smiles.

The session aims to promote meaningful discussions and reinforce Assam’s literary and cultural unity, celebrating the region’s vibrant heritage in the heart of the Barak Valley.--------
