Speaking to the media, ACA President Taranga Gogoi announced that starting next year, the Assam Premier League will be launched, modeled after the Indian Premier League (IPL). The initiative aims to provide a professional platform for local talent and further strengthen the state’s cricket ecosystem.

The AGM was attended by ACA Secretary Tridib Konwar, Vice President Rajdeep Oja, Joint Secretary Rajendra Singh, Treasurer Chiranjit Langthasa, Apex Council members, and representatives from all affiliated district units.

Before the meeting commenced, tributes were paid to Assam’s cultural icon Zubeen Garg. The session featured detailed discussions on player performance, infrastructure projects, and strategies for the holistic development of cricket in Assam. A District Coordination Committee was formed to strengthen ties between ACA and its member units.

A major highlight of the AGM was the formation of the new Apex Council for the 2025–2028 term. The AGM reaffirmed ACA’s commitment to grassroots cricket, youth development, and infrastructure enhancement. Plans were outlined to strengthen coaching structures, accelerate stadium modernization, and expand talent identification programs across all districts.

Under the new leadership of Taranga Gogoi and Sanatan Das, the ACA aims to promote professionalism, transparency, and inclusivity in cricket administration while creating more opportunities for players at every level.

With a renewed vision and collective determination, the new Apex Council vowed to take Assam cricket to greater heights in the coming years.--------
