Delhi, 1 October (H.S.): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday hailed the release of a commemorative postage stamp and Rs.100 coin to mark the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), calling it a “historic moment” for all patriots of the nation.

In a post on X, Gupta said the gesture honoured 100 years of the Sangh’s service to the nation, tracing its journey from the vision of Dr. K.B. Hedgewar to the leadership of the current Sarsanghchalak, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat. “Discipline, dedication, and selfless service to the motherland have always been the guiding principles of the RSS,” she noted.

The Chief Minister emphasised that the Sangh’s swayamsevaks have never confined themselves only to organisational work, but have also played a seminal role in promoting India’s culture, traditions, and social harmony across the country. She recalled the Sangh’s resilience during the Emergency and its proactive role in providing relief during natural calamities and crises, describing its service as unwavering and selfless.

“As India marches ahead towards the goal of becoming a developed nation, the tireless contributions of the RSS and millions of dedicated swayamsevaks remain exemplary,” she added.

Gupta also extended her greetings to all swayamsevaks and lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for commemorating the Sangh’s century-long journey through the special philatelic and numismatic releases.

Notably, Prime Minister Modi unveiled the commemorative stamp and Rs.100 coin at a ceremony organised by the Ministry of Culture at Delhi’s Dr. Ambedkar International Centre. The event was attended by RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
