Chirang (Assam), 1 October (HS): Amid the Durga Puja festivities, a bloodied body of a youth was recovered near the roadside at Goybari, close to Basugaon town in Chirang district, sparking panic in the area this morning.

Local residents discovered the body lying on the Basugaon–Kashikotra Garhkaptani Road this morning and immediately alerted the police. A team from Basugaon Police Station reached the spot, recovered the body and launched an investigation.

Upon checking documents found in the youth’s pocket, the deceased was identified as Suraj Saha (31), a resident of Babupara in Bongaigaon town.

The exact circumstances leading to his death are still unclear. Police said the matter will be fully revealed only after a detailed investigation.-------
