Paschim Medinipur, 1 October (H.S.): Two youths were killed and three others critically injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles on the Medinipur–Mohanpur National Highway early Wednesday morning.

The accident took place around 4:30 a.m. when one motorcycle carrying three riders was heading towards Mohanpur, while another with two riders was coming from the opposite direction. Both vehicles were reportedly at high speed, leading to a severe crash.

One victim died on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries after being rushed to Medinipur Medical College. The three remaining injured are undergoing treatment and are said to be in critical condition.

Police reached the site soon after the incident, sent the bodies for post-mortem, and have initiated an investigation.
