Washington, October 1 (H.S.): US President Donald Trump has vigorously defended his controversial tariff policy, calling tariff his favorite term and asserting that it has played a crucial role in restoring America's economic strength. Speaking at the Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Virginia, Trump emphasized that tariffs have generated trillions of dollars in revenue, which could support major defense expenditures, including battleship procurement.

Trump reproached other countries for exploiting the United States in trade over the years but maintained that his tariff measures have rebalanced global trade relations fairly. He acknowledged an ongoing Supreme Court challenge questioning the legality of his emergency powers used to impose these tariffs but expressed strong confidence that his administration would prevail.

US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer confirmed that tariffs will continue to be a fundamental element of the United States' trade policy regardless of judicial decisions, highlighting that the reciprocal tariffs enacted in August will shape future trade enforcement strategies.

Despite a recent appellate court ruling deeming the use of emergency powers illegal in imposing global tariffs, the administration is prepared to pursue alternative legal options to sustain its tariff framework.
