01 Oct (HS): During wee hours under Baragaon police station area, SWAT and

surveillance team had an encounter with an interstate gang of thieves. In this,

three notorious thieves were injured by police bullets. Along with this gang,

the police also arrested a youth and recovered gold and silver jewellery, cash,

pistols and cartridges from their possession. On receiving information about

the incident, SP City Preeti Singh along with the forensic team reached the

spot. The injured have been sent to the medical college for treatment. It has

been told that a month ago these thieves had committed a theft in a house in

Baragaon.

City, Preeti Singh, stated that on August 31, unknown assailants broke into

Balram's vacant house on Station Road in the Baragaon area and stole gold and

silver jewelry and cash. The SSP took cognizance of the incident and directed

the police team to investigate. Under the SSP's direction, the SWAT and

surveillance teams were searching for the notorious gang of thieves. The team

encountered the suspects in Tankori village, Baragaon. When the team signaled

them to stop, the suspects opened fire on the police team with pistols. In

self-defense, the SWAT team returned fire. Among the suspects, Rajpal, Sonu,

and Deepak, all residents of Atrasua village, Bhind district, Madhya Pradesh,

were shot in the leg and also apprehended a juvenile. The police team recovered

gold and silver jewelry worth lakhs of rupees, cash Rs. 15,000, two pistols,

live and empty cartridges, and two motorcycles. During interrogation, the

arrested criminals told that they had committed the theft at the house of Balram

near Railway Station on August 31 and the recovered goods were stolen from his

house.
