Guwahati, 1 October (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Cabinet for approving the widening of the Kaliabor-Numaligarh section of National Highway 715 into a 4-lane road at a cost of ₹6,957 crore.
The project includes a 34-km elevated corridor through Kaziranga National Park, aimed at ensuring smooth vehicular movement while protecting wildlife from road accidents.
Calling it a “major infrastructure project,” CM Sarma said it would not only transform connectivity in Assam but also set a new example of human-animal coexistence.--------
