New Delhi, October 1 (HS):The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium witnessed a remarkable day for Indian javelin throwers on Tuesday as the Indian Oil New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships saw the country’s athletes deliver outstanding performances.

In the F44 category, Sandeep Sanjay Sargar struck gold while Sandeep Chaudhary clinched silver, bringing glory to the nation. Soon after, Sumit achieved a historic milestone by winning gold in the F64 event with a new championship record, following on from Monday’s success when Rinku and Sundar Singh Gurjar had secured gold and silver in the F46 category.

Amid the excitement of the F64 event, Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra made a surprise appearance at the venue. His presence electrified both the crowd and the media, with spectators cheering passionately on catching a glimpse of India’s athletics icon.

Expressing joy at the strong performances, Neeraj made a heartfelt appeal to the public. “For para athletes, life itself is already full of challenges, yet they come here and compete with such determination. It is truly inspiring. I urge more people to come forward and cheer for them,” he said.

The atmosphere also drew rising talent Sachin Yadav, who was present in the stands to watch Sumit’s record-breaking throw. When asked about the young athlete, the 27-year-old Neeraj remarked, “I have no advice for him. He’s already doing really well and knows what it takes to succeed.”
