Washington, October 1 (HS):

US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Hamas, declaring the militant group will pay in hell if it refuses to endorse his newly proposed Gaza peace agreement.

Speaking to American military leaders at Quantico, Virginia, Trump said his plan required just one signature — that of Hamas — to secure peace in Gaza. I hope they sign for their own good and create something really great, he remarked, stressing that Hamas had only three or four days to respond.

The proposed deal outlines a ceasefire, the release of hostages within 72 hours, and Hamas' complete disarmament, followed by a phased Israeli pullout from Gaza. It also envisions a transitional authority overseen by Trump himself. While Hamas members agreeing to peaceful coexistence would be granted amnesty, the plan bars its militants from any political role in a future administration.

The initiative has received cautious support from international players, including key Arab and Muslim nations, but Hamas has not yet offered its official reply.
