Delhi, 1 October (H.S): On the auspicious occasion of Maha Navami, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta solemnly performed the traditional Kanya Pujan (worship of young girls) at the Government Girls' Secondary School in Haiderpur.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Minister emphasized that in ancient scriptures, Kanya Pujan is regarded as a form of worship of Goddess Durga, reflecting the profound reverence of daughters as embodiments of Shakti (divine power).

Chief Minister Gupta shared that she has been performing this ritual in Navratri for several years, honoring the divine feminine in the form of young girls. She prayed to Goddess Bhagwati to bless all citizens with happiness, peace, prosperity, and strength. Extending heartfelt greetings on Maha Navami, she highlighted that this day marks the sacred worship of Maa Siddhidatri, who bestows success, abundance, and liberation.

The Chief Minister further elaborated that Maa Siddhidatri vanquished demons to establish dharma and truth, making Maha Navami a symbol of power and devotion. She expressed that through the blessings of the Goddess, devotees receive the eight siddhis (spiritual powers) and nine nidhi (treasures).
