01 Oct (HS): In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, a speeding car collided with a

truck parked on the roadside early Wednesday morning. Six people died in the

accident, and one was injured. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance

of the incident and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families of the

deceased. He directed officials to reach the spot and provide the best possible

treatment to the injured.

Senior

Superintendent of Police of Muzaffarnagar, Sanjay Kumar, said that Mahendra

Junaija, a resident of Faridpur village in Karnal district of Haryana state,

had passed away a few days ago. His family members were going to Haridwar to

immerse his ashes. The car collided with a truck parked on the roadside near

Tridev Hotel on the Panipat-Khatima road in the Titavi police station area of

​​Muzaffarnagar district. Mahendra's son Piyush, Mahendra's wife Mohini,

Sunil's wife Anju, Rajendra's wife Binny and the car driver Shiva, a resident

of Panipat, died in this accident. Mahendra's son Hardik is injured. All of

them are residents of Haryana.

The

District Magistrate (DM) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) inspected

the scene of the incident. The SSP stated that a tragic accident occurred

today. Around 7 a.m., the family was traveling by car to Haridwar to immerse

ashes. A truck was parked near the Tridev Hotel. The car collided with that truck.

It is reported that the car's tire had burst. The driver is absconding with the

truck. The

SSP said that a case has been filed and action is being taken. This was

certainly negligence. Dhaba operators also have a responsibility to ensure

vehicles are not parked on the roadside.
