Agra,
23 Jan (HS): A man was killed after his automobile caught fire as he was
traveling in Agra and the vehicle doors failed to open on time, according to
authorities on Friday.
According
to Assistant Commissioner of Police Gaurav Singh, the 45-year-old Virendra was
driving on the Bodla-Bichpuri route on Thursday night when smoke suddenly
billowed from the automobile, which quickly caught fire. Singh reported that
the car's doors refused to open, keeping him inside as the flames enveloped the
vehicle. Firefighters and police arrived on the scene and extinguished the
blaze. Virendra's burnt body was discovered in the automobile and taken for
post-mortem investigation.
The
specific origin of the fire has yet to be determined, although preliminary
suspicions point to a short circuit. The car's locks failed to unlock, trapping
the driver and killing him, authorities said.
