We exercised restraint but retaliated after Accused Snatched guns: Sajjanar


Telangana, Dec 6 (HS): All the our accused arrested in connection with the rape-and-murder of a 26-year-old woman veterinarian in Hyderabad were killed in an encounter with the police on Friday morning, the Cyberabad CP VC Sajjanar said. 
He said after seeking custody of the accused on December 2nd , they began investigation and interrogation of the four accused Mohhammad Arif, C Chennakesahavulu, Jollu Naveen and Jollu Siva who belonged to Makthal mandal in Narayanpet district.
Seven teams of ten policemen were constituted to investigate and to recreate the scene the police reached the site of the crime. The accused during interrogation revealed that they have buried the mobile and power bank of the deceased doctor under the bridge at Chattanpally incidentally this was the same place where the victim was set afire. He said that ten policeman had accompanied the accused to the location  today morning from the Cherlapally Jail.
At the location the accused Mohammed Arif and Chennakesavulu snatched the weapons  and opened fire at policeman. The accused Arif Mohammad snatched a 9mm pistol from the sub-inspector and the other two accused Jollu Siva and Jollu Naveen had become quite aggressive and both of them hurled stones and attacked the police with sticks. Initially they attempted to run in different directions. Later on in the process, the police had to fire at the accused and shot them down in self-defence. The whole incident was over in five to 10 minutes and encounter had taken place between 5:40 am to 6 am in the morning hours of Friday.
Mr Sajjanar said  two policemen including a sub-inspector Venkateswarulu from Makthal and a police constable Arvind  were injured in the cross fire by the accused at recreation site. They were sent to the hospital for treatment after first aid and admitted to Care Hospital in Hyderabad .
Mr Sajjanar said Telangana police were also examining if the accused were involved in any other cases in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka as there were many cases of missing woman and burnt bodies located as cases remain unresolved.
The bodies of the accused were sent to Mahabubnagar Govt hospital for postmortem and the bodies shall be handed over to the relatives for last rites which shall  be performed in their native village itself or possibly tonight, he added.
Heavy security has deployed at the village of Gudigandla in Narayanpet district where the four accused belonged,to avoid any sort of untoward incidents. 
Meanwhile, the encounter of the accused were largely welcomed in both Telugu speaking states and Women organisation and college were in a celebratory mood. Most the students hailed the Police chief for his bold decision. Policemen in uniform were hugged and sweets distributed at the township of the Veternary doctor .
The Mother and father of the women doctor Disha hailed  the police and thanked media for the support. The father of the Women doctor said her soul will rest in peace as the justice was  delivered with in ten days.
