Lucknow, 09 June (HS): Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh
Chief Minister, attended the Shri Ram Katha Mahotsav in Lucknow. Padma
Vibhushan Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya led the organization of this event in
Lucknow. Brij Ki Rasoi, Aamod Hotel Seva Hospital Campus, Sitapur Road,
Lucknow, was the venue for the event. This big 9-day Katha occurred from June 1
to June 9. Behind the stage was a huge facsimile of Ayodhya's Shri Ram Temple.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that
India's land cannot be a safe haven for individuals who lack patriotism. He
also advocated for a firm stance against 'love jihad' and 'land jihad.'
‘Mariuch and Ravana, born into high lineage and noble order,
yet die like beasts, because they betray Lord Shri Ram. Whoever has made Lord
Shri Ram the ideal of their life, their welfare has been ensured. For those who
lack faith in India, India's soil cannot be a 'sanctuary' for them. When these
'uncles' and 'maternal uncles' end up in any system, they always steer it towards
the wrong crowd, he added.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Tuesday
that India cannot be a dharamshala for individuals who do not
believe in the nation or respect its traditions. He also warned about love
jihad, religious conversion plots, and land jihad. Adityanath, speaking at the
end of a nine-day Shri Ram Katha Mahotsav told by Jagadguru Ramanandacharya
Swami Rambhadracharya in Lucknow, stated that Lord Ram's values continue to unify
the country from north to south and west to east. Except for a few people
motivated by politics or bigotry, there is no one who possesses India's DNA and
has not made Lord Ram's values a part of his life, he remarked.
The chief minister stated that Lord Ram was a figure capable
of unifying all Indians, regardless of locality, which is why the Ram
Janmabhoomi campaign has persisted for generations. He stated that numerous
saints have made the Ram Janmabhoomi cause a life and death issue,
not for personal gain, but for the preservation of India's civilizational
history. Referring to the 2019 Supreme
Court ruling in the Ram Janmabhoomi case, Adityanath stated that the
Constitution bench unanimously agreed that the spot where Ram Lalla is
worshipped is really his birthplace.
He also appreciated Swami Rambhadracharya's contribution to the case, noting
that saints' spiritual activities were intended not just for individual
salvation but also for national development and public benefit.
Adityanath cited the Ramayana to argue that Lord Ram acted
against forces seeking to demolish educational and research institutions. Demons
such as Tadaka attempted to destroy places of knowledge. Lord Ram made every
attempt to oppose them, he said. While discussing women's rights, Adityanath
brought up concerns like religious conversion and interfaith partnerships. He
said that love jihad is part of a bigger scheme to alter the country's
religious demographics. The high court voiced worry about this problem in 2009
and 2011. It is part of a scheme to alter religious demographics. The Uttar
Pradesh government passed legislation prohibiting illegal religious conversions
in 2020. Greater public awareness is still required, he stated, adding,
We must remain vigilant. Negative forces exist in every period, but
society must unify and stay prepared.
Adityanath also condemned land jihad and stated
such efforts must be stopped. He stated that India could not become a haven for
individuals who lacked loyalty to the nation. India's territory cannot serve as
a dharamshala for invaders or people who lack faith, loyalty, or respect for
its ideals and traditions. It just cannot be, he insisted. The chief minister
urged saints and constructive social forces to band together to develop the
nation, cautioning against those who want to divide society based on caste,
geography, or language. Some would
attempt to separate society based on caste, while others will do it based on
location or language. We must learn the core of Ram Katha and be unified, he
remarked.
The chief minister stated that just listening to religious
talks was insufficient; individuals should embrace the values of the persons
they respect. When we revere Ram, we must embody his principles. We should
endeavor to live up to those beliefs and motivate our loved ones to do the
same, he added.
He also penned a post on X, which reads as follows: “Today,
in the concluding program of the nine-day Sri Ram Katha Mahotsav held in
Lucknow, we were fortunate to receive the divine blessings of listening to the
sacred Sri Ram Katha from the revered saint, Padma Vibhushan Jagadguru
Tulsipithadheeshwar Ramanandacharya Swami Shri Rambhadracharya Ji Maharaj. In
the medieval era, the way Goswami Tulsidas Ji awakened public consciousness,
Swami Shri Rambhadracharya Ji Maharaj is carrying forward that same tradition
today. Heartfelt congratulations to the revered Maharaj Ji.”
