Patna, June 6 (H.S.): The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) has expressed pride and delight over the selection of Bihar’s young cricket sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi to the Indian T20 team. Vaibhav has been named in India’s squad for the upcoming tours of Ireland and England, as well as the 2026 Asian Games to be held in Japan.

Congratulating Vaibhav on his selection, Bihar Cricket Association President Harshvardhan described the achievement as a historic moment for cricket in Bihar. He said Vaibhav’s success is not only the result of his individual talent and dedication but also a reflection of the steady growth of cricket in Bihar and the emergence of exceptional talent from the state.

Harshvardhan said:

“Vaibhav’s selection to the Indian team is a historic achievement for Bihar cricket. It is not merely the success of one player, but a reflection of the continuous development of cricket in Bihar, the hard work of players, and the rising talent emerging from the state. Through his performances, Vaibhav has proved that cricketers from Bihar possess the ability to succeed at the highest level. With this selection, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is set to represent India for the first time and could make his debut in T20 International cricket.

Having risen from Bihar to showcase his talent on both national and international platforms, Vaibhav attracted widespread attention across the cricketing world with his outstanding performances in IPL 2026.

Representing the Rajasthan Royals, he displayed aggressive batting throughout the season and finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer.

Vaibhav also set a new IPL record by smashing 72 sixes during the 2026 season, the highest number of sixes hit by any batter in a single edition of the tournament.

His fearless batting, remarkable strike rate, and ability to clear the boundary consistently remained one of the major talking points of the season. These performances have established him as one of the most promising young talents in Indian cricket.
