
New Delhi, 05 May (H.S.): Following the latest annual update released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday, India and Australia have respectively retained their top positions in men's and women's T20 International team rankings. In this update, matches played after May 2025 have been given full weightage and competitions from the past two years have been given partial weightage .
In men's rankings, India remains at the first position with 275 points, although its margin over England in the second place has now decreased from 14 to 13 points. England is second with 262 points and Australia is third with 258 points. There has been no change in the positions of the top seven teams. New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, and West Indies have retained their respective positions.
In this update, Bangladesh has climbed one place and reached eighth position, while Sri Lanka has slipped to ninth place losing six points. Afghanistan remains in tenth position. America has secured 13th position leaving behind Netherlands and Scotland. Nepal has achieved 17th position leaving behind United Arab Emirates, while Oman has reached 19th position.
In other notable changes, Italy has secured 23rd position with an 11-point lead, Spain has reached 26th position with a 12-point lead, Cyprus and Eswatini have also made significant progress. On the other hand, Mozambique suffered the most loss and fell 15 places to reach 87th position.
In women's T20 rankings, Australia remains at the first position with 287 points, although its margin over England has decreased from 18 to 12 points. England is second with 275 points and India remains third with 264 points .
In women's rankings, there has been no change in the positions of the top 16 teams. New Zealand, South Africa, and West Indies are in fourth, fifth, and sixth positions respectively. Sri Lanka has remained in seventh position and reached closer to top teams, while Bangladesh has also improved and reached closer to Ireland.
America has jumped two places in women's rankings to secure 20th position, while Germany has climbed six places and achieved 29th position.
After this update, a total of 98 teams in men's category and 78 teams in women's category have been included in rankings. Some teams have been excluded from rankings for not playing minimum matches.
