(HS): The doors of the temples of Ramnagari Ayodhya were closed on Tuesday due
to the lunar eclipse; there will be no darshan of Ram Lalla at Shri Ram
Janmabhoomi today. Today is the first lunar eclipse of the year 2026, which
will be visible in India as well. The time of the eclipse will be from 3:19 pm
to 6:07 pm.
The Sutak period has started about 9 hours before
the eclipse. As soon as the Sutak started, the doors of all the major temples
of Ramnagari Ayodhya were closed. Devotees will not be able to have darshan of
Ram Lalla at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple. All the monasteries and temples
including Dashrath Mahal and Hanumangarhi, Nageshwarnath, Kale Ram, Kanak
Bhawan are closed. The doors of the temples will remain closed from around 8 am
to 8:30 pm.
During the Sutak
period, darshan, worship, and other auspicious activities are prohibited.
Traditionally, special kirtans and chanting are being performed within temples.
Regular worship and darshan will resume only after the eclipse ends and purification
is complete.
