India voiced profound concern over intensifying West Asia conflict, firmly renewing appeals for dialogue and diplomacy while mourning lives lost and prioritising the safety of nearly one crore Indians in the Gulf.

Official Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated the government is closely monitoring developments, engaging regional governments and partners—including PM Modi and EAM conversations—and will act decisively in national interests.

Economic Risks and Consular Support

New Delhi highlighted threats to trade/energy chains, condemning merchant shipping attacks that claimed Indian lives. Embassies/consulates maintain constant contact with nationals, issuing advisories and aid, vowing proactive consular resolution.

India, a proximate stakeholder, decried conflict spread during Ramadan—from February 28 Iran-Gulf clashes—as deeply troubling, opposing escalation and affirming sovereignty/international law.
