New Delhi, 03 March (H.S.):
Air travel disruptions persist for the fourth consecutive day due to West Asia tensions, with 80 flights affected at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA)—36 departures and 44 arrivals cancelled. The ongoing Israel-Iran conflict has prompted several Gulf nations to impose airspace restrictions or partial closures, forcing international airlines to reroute flights or cancel services for safety.
This has severely impacted routes from New Delhi to Gulf countries and Europe.
Widespread Impact on Indian Carriers
The Civil Aviation Ministry reports that Indian airlines have cancelled 760 international flights over the past two days amid escalating risks. Western-bound flights bear the brunt due to multiple Gulf airspace shutdowns; Akasa Air has suspended services to Gulf destinations until March 3.
Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) handles over 1,300 daily flights, amplifying the ripple effects on passengers.
