New Delhi, May 13 (HS): The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has achieved a historic victory in the Assam panchayat elections. Following this victory, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expressed gratitude to the people of Assam. On Tuesday, BJP President J.P. Nadda stated in a message on X (formerly Twitter) that this mandate is a testament to the people's faith in development-oriented policies and the remarkable progress taking place in Assam under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He congratulated the state's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, state BJP President Dilip Saikia, and all dedicated BJP workers for their exceptional contributions to achieving this victory.
Earlier, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on X that the NDA won 300 out of 397 seats in the 'District Council' elections with a voter turnout of 76.22 percent, while in the 'Regional Panchayat' elections, the ruling coalition secured 1,436 seats out of 2,192 with a 66 percent vote share.
