Noida,
9 Dec (HS): As is the case every year, the Yamuna Expressway is preparing to
reduce the speed limit due to fog. It is reported that the new speed limit will
come into effect on December 15. The Yamuna Development Authority has not yet
received any correspondence regarding the matter.
In
winter, driving becomes difficult due to reduced visibility on the roads owing
to fog. Due to cold, there is a possibility of accidents as the roads remain
slippery. To avoid any untoward incident, a plan has been made to reduce the
speed limit on Yamuna Expressway and it is being considered to implement it
from December 15. Due to winter, the management is preparing to reduce the
speed limit for light vehicles from 100 kmph to 75 kmph and for heavy vehicles
from 80 kmph to 60 kmph. Senior Manager of Yamuna Expressway JK Sharma said
today that the changes can be made by December 15. For this, the correspondence
from the authority is awaited.
