Cachar (Assam), 09 December (HS): In a swift operation, Silchar Sadar Police apprehended a youth from the Goldighi area and seized a pistol along with ammunition from his possession in Sunday night. Police officials said today that the team conducted the raid based on specific inputs.

According to authorities, one 7.62 mm pistol and four rounds of ammunition were recovered during the operation. The arrested individual has been identified as Zamir Ahmed of Barkhola.

Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation to ascertain the source of the weapon and any possible links to illegal activities.
