Bhubaneswar, 7 December (H.S.): The Bhubaneswar–Cuttack Police Commissionerate on Sunday issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the India–South Africa T20 match scheduled to be held at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack, on December 9, 2025. A practice session for both teams is planned for December 8, prompting authorities to implement precautionary traffic measures.
With heavy vehicle movement expected on all major routes leading to the stadium due to team travel and match-related activities, commuters have been urged to plan their journeys accordingly and strictly follow the instructions of traffic personnel deployed across key junctions.
Citing security requirements for players, match officials, and the general public, as well as the need for smooth traffic regulation, the Commissionerate has invoked powers under Section 28 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003 (Odisha Act 8 of 2007), along with Regulation 36 of the Bhubaneswar–Cuttack Police Commissionerate (Traffic and Public Order) Regulations, 2008, to enforce temporary restrictions.
The advisory outlines specific traffic diversions, no-entry zones, parking arrangements, and controlled movement timings around Barabati Stadium. Authorities have requested public cooperation to ensure smooth conduct of the international match and to avoid congestion in the city.
