New Delhi, 7 December (H.S.): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday attended the Armed Forces Flag Day ceremony held at Manekshaw Centre in Delhi Cantonment, where she paid tribute to the valour and sacrifice of India’s armed forces personnel and their families.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Minister expressed gratitude, stating, “It is a matter of pride for every Indian to honour our brave soldiers, the families of martyrs, and veterans who dedicate their lives to the nation’s security. This day reminds us of the countless sacrifices that ensure our safety and freedom.”

During the ceremony, Chief Minister Gupta was joined by Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi. Together, they felicitated distinguished armed forces personnel decorated with gallantry and distinguished service medals.

Additionally, ten eminent civilians were honoured for their outstanding contributions to the welfare of armed forces families and for exemplifying national commitment and compassion through their work.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Gupta said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has achieved remarkable progress in defence self-reliance, military modernisation, and strategic capability. She highlighted the success of Operation Sindoor, underlining that it demonstrated India’s firm resolve and capability to safeguard its borders, citizens, and the honour of its women.

“Valour, discipline, and devotion to the nation—these are the hallmarks of our armed forces,” she remarked.
