Guwahati, 29 September (HS): The Assam government conducted the third grade graduate level written exam for Assam Direct Recruitment Exam (ADRE) on Sunday in the morning shift and HSLC level drivers' exams in the evening shift. Information has been received about the completion of the exam peacefully across the state.

There is no report of any untoward incident from anywhere during the exam. Crowds of people were seen gathering at the examination centers of the state since morning. Due to the large number of candidates and their parents, the problem of traffic jam persisted throughout the day on Sunday. Due to the suspension of internet services during this period, people had to face various types of problems.

ADRE exam was conducted in two phases today. The exam for third grade was conducted from 9 am to 12 noon. At the same time, the HSLC level drivers' exam was held from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm. The recruitment exam was conducted at 822 centers across the state.

Strict security arrangements were made at the examination centers. Candidates were allowed to enter the examination center with new SOP. A total of 7,34,080 candidates appeared for the third grade examination this time. Separate arrangements have been made for the search of male and female candidates. Female candidates were searched in the presence of Anganwadi workers, Asha workers.

In view of the examination, mobile internet services were shut down in the state early today. According to the administrative order, mobile internet was to be shut down from 8.30 am. Internet services remained shut till 5 pm. However, the voice call facility remained on during this time. Also, broadband connectivity based telephone services also remained on. But, mobile internet service was shut down in Guwahati before the scheduled time. Due to which people had to face a lot of trouble.
