Prez visits Banke Bihari temple


Mathura, 27 June (HS): President Ram Nath Kovind accompanied by wife reached Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan on Monday. The couple lit five lamps amid vedic chants.

President offered perfume, roses, fruits and sweets in the temple. Five mothers of Krishna Kutir were also present during the darshan. President lit five lamps and anointed the dehri with rose water. After this he gave dakshina to the Pandits. Acharya Awadhesh Badal performed Pooja.

The President said that this mother has become a medium, it is because of her that he has come here. From here the convoy of the President left for Krishna Kutir. In view of the President's visit, unprecedented security arrangements have been made in Vrindavan.

Earlier, Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed him at the helipad.
