Jammu, 14 May (H.S): JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla visited Govt Medical College to enquire about the health of fire victims after a bus full of pilgrims on route to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine base camp caught fire near Shani Dev temple in Katra on Friday. The victims who have sustained burn injuries and all have been evacuated from the site with the help of the police, fire and emergency services and assistance from the locals. Bhalla asked the medical officers to ensure that those injured be given the best possible medical care. He asked the doctors to make every effort in order to save the lives of the injured.
Bhalla demanded suitable compensation to fire victims and best possible medical treatment.Bhalla expressed grief and sorrow over the incident of fire and said he stood in solidarity with the fire victims demanding adequate compensation and immediate and dignified treatment to all. While condoling the deaths, urged the government to look into fire safety lapses that led to the incident and take steps to ensure that these do not recur. The government should provide all the necessary assistance to the bereaved family members, he said. Expressing his anguish, he demanded the government to provide ₹25 lakh compensation to the families of the deceased. He expressed his condolences to the bereaved families. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
