Karachi, 13 May (HS): A bomb blast on a busy road in the Saddar area of Karachi on Thursday night killed one person and injured more a dozen others.
An improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a motorcycle outside a bakery exploded, also damaged a vehicle belonging to Pakistan Coast Guard.
Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar informed Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah that an IED was used, said a spokesperson.
According to the preliminary probe report, it appeared that the IED was attached to a motorbike, the IGP said. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The Pakistani Prime Minister has expressed condolences to those killed and injured in the attack and promised to eradicate terrorism. This was Karachi's second attack in less than a month.
