SP sets up IT war room to connect with voters digitally

PRAYAGRAJ, Jan 14 (HS): In an effort to connect with voters digitally, the leaders of the Samajwadi Party (SP) have established an IT war room, which will connect hundreds of party workers via WhatsApp groups and other social media platforms. With smart phones and laptops in hand, party workers at the ward, Vidhan Sabha, and block committee levels in all 12 assembly segments are adding people to WhatsApp groups and other social media platforms to spread the message of party national president Akhilesh Yadav and inform them about the party's policies. To connect with voters, the party has targeted as many as 5,076 booths across all 12 seats.

Yogesh Kumar Yadav, district president (Samajwadi Party), who has taken charge of the digital campaign in the district's ten assembly seats, stated that party activists at the ward, Vidhan Sabha, block, and booth committee levels have been asked to form groups to connect with voters in all 12 assembly segments. He went on to say that the IT war room, which is made up of about 100 volunteers, and the central command room will communicate with grass-roots workers and carry the message of the party's national president to the masses. He went on to say that there has been an active 10-person team at each and every booth in the district, and they have been asked to accommodate as many people as possible.

The IT war room is disseminating speeches from party leaders, as well as short videos and images from the campaign. The message of the SP chief and other leaders is also being amplified by party workers by providing live links to various events.

In addition, senior leaders' and other party leaders' social media accounts, which have a large number of followers, will be used to amplify election campaigning. Furthermore, the party intends to send a five-person team for door-to-door campaigning.
